Maintenance Inspections Defects Warranty Period

If you own an investment property that is new, the relative building authority legislation in your state has provisions for the builder to cover major and minor defects. This gives you the peace of mind to have any issues that develop within the property in the first 12 months after completion to be rectified under the builders warranty.

Major defects are covered for a period of 6 years and 6 months after handover.
